We have a beautiful 2019 Disco 5 HSE in stock and I have been using it for a few days, and I have obviously been making comparisons in my own head, and maybe it’s because I love the Disco 4 so much that I still feel its slightly better. Don’t get me wrong the Disco 5 is a simply fantastic vehicle with all the new tech, it drives brilliantly, looks great, it even feels slightly faster, but I still love the Disco 4, in saying that I’m sure the more 5’s I sell the more it will grow on me. It’s A LOT of car for the price, and the thing is, they don’t make them any more (what a pity). I haven’t had the opportunity to sell the new Disco’s, but from what I have heard the D4 is much better. If you have never driven or experienced the greatness that is a new spec Disco 4, BUT you are curious to know, I suggest you come through for a test drive or come and borrow it for the weekend and take the family out. Then make your decision. We used to have so many of these brilliant vehicles on our floor with low mileage just like this, but trust me when I tell you, it’s becoming harder and harder to find the a clean Disco 4. One of the main things we look for when buying a Disco or Land Rover of any kind is the maintenance and service history, it has to be done correctly. The most important things to us is the Cambelt service, this one is none negotiable. We have sold 100’s of these cars, we love Land Rovers of any kind, especially when they look like this one does. When we purchased this one, I had the fortunate job of using her for the weekend, and I must say that every time I drive a clean well looked after Disco, I think to myself WHAT a brilliant car. They are such great cars and fit for any purpose, they are as much at home on the highway as they are rock crawling up a mountain, either way you are assured of arriving at your destination in one of the most luxurious and comfortable SUV’s on the road today. WHAT MAKES THIS CAR SPECIAL? • Cam Belt service done • Full service history • Face Lift • Off road snorkel • All 4 A/T tyres are in excellent condition • Rear DVD head rests • Aftermarket ARB high output air compressor installed • 8 speed gear box • Immaculate condition inside and out • Bluetooth • Satellite navigation • Spare key • Reverse camera Park distance control Front and rear • Cooling fridge inside The SE model is one under the HSE so it still comes with a huge amount of standard extras. VEHICLE AND ENGINE SPECS: • Fuel type : Diesel • Number of cylinders : V 6 • Engine capacity : 2993 cm3 • Maximum power: 253 HP / 188 kW • Maximum torque : 600 Nm • Acceleration 0 to 100 km/h: 9.3 s • Drive wheels: AWD • Transmission Gearbox - Number of speeds : 8 speed Automatic • Ground clearance : 31.0 cm • Fuel Consumption - Combined: 8.8 L (factory claim, I have found them to be more like 12 L) • Fuel Tank Capacity : 82 L WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THIS CAR WHEN WE BOUGHT IT? • We love it when we receive a car and there is hardly anything to do to it, much like this one, It shows me that the previous owner looked after it very well. Unfortunately Dealers Choice has a bit of an obsession with making our cars as perfect as possible. • 2 of the 4 alloy rims needed to be refurbished, due to curb rash. • The front grille and side air vents needed to be resprayed, I don’t know why but we have to do this on every disco, they just seem to fade after time. Other than that, this car is and was in pristine condition, and already in showroom condition when we bought her. Normally we have to do some sort of interior repairs or refurbishing to our Land Rovers, this one was pristine on the inside. So nice to see such a clean vehicle, it makes our job very easy in selling her on. My recommendation on buying a Discovery is buy one from a reputable dealership, take out a good warranty and purchase one with a full traceable service history. That’s what we do and we also only buy from people we know so we can verify the history of the vehicle, none of our vehicles are bought on auction (learnt my lesson many years ago with that one). All of our vehicles are bought from private individuals who have owned their cars for many years or franchise dealerships. Also cheap isn’t better, trust me, buy from a dealer who will look after you when things do go wrong and you need them the most. Anyone looking for a clean Disco for the family, this is the one for you, come through and see if she fits. Keep well, see you soon.
