In 2011, BMW’s M division turned their attention to the 1 series coupe, with the aim to make the BMW 1 Series M coupe. It was called the 1M to avoid confusion with the BMW M1 supercar. First unveiled at the 2007 Tokyo Auto Show as a concept car, it was only released in 2011, with significant enhancements to the original concept carBMW M-division knows a thing or two about creating exciting cars and with the 1M the goal was more of the same! As the car was based on the entry level 1-series, the aim with the 1M was not only to create a performance masterpiece, but also to keep costs low. Parts were sourced from other legendary M-cars; rear suspension came from the E92 M3, as well as the limited slip differential and brakes. The 3.0L twin turbo engine was taken from the Z4 35iS and produces an impressive 250 kW with 500 Nm of torque available. This engine, fitted in a flared arched body, coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a limited slip diff and a perfect 50/50 weight distribution, all contributes to another very exiting BMW M-car!This specific car is a 2012 BMW 1M with 28 000 km on from new and a full-service history. It is finished in Alpine White over Dakota Black interior, which is complimented by orange stitching and bits of alcantara spread throughout the cabin. Its N54 engine is capable of a 0-100km/h sprint in 4.9 seconds, although it’s been tested to be roughly half a second quicker, and a top speed of 262 km/h!Great opportunity to own one of the best M-Cars!
